Education Across the States — News Update
November 2, 2026 · By Charles Mayfield, Executive Producer
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, every New Hampshire voter decides Question 2 — whether their school district adopts the school tax cap. Tonight’s NH Education Daily, “What Remains Unanswered: The Tax-Cap Vote, and Nashua’s Facilities Decision” — hosted by Alex and Jordan, 8 minutes 40 seconds — works through what the public record still does not settle on the eve of the vote.
The honest headline is how much remains unanswered: a sentence on the ballot still in dispute, an inflation term the question never defines, and no official district-by-district accounting of what the school tax cap would cost. The episode takes each open question in turn — what the cap would and would not reach, what the numbers districts have published actually are (district estimates, not state findings), and what tomorrow’s result will and will not decide.
Then the episode goes deep on Nashua, where the school board’s facilities decision lands November 16 — and where the public record still cannot confirm whether that night is even a vote. Between now and then, the questions in tonight’s episode are the ones the record has to answer.
Follow NH Education Daily tonight: tomorrow we report the Question 2 results district by district as they are certified, and on November 16 we report what the Nashua board actually does.

Takeaway: Vote with the unanswered questions in view. The ballot sentence is disputed, the inflation term is undefined in the question itself, and there is no official district-by-district cost accounting — the figures in circulation are the districts’ own estimates. Whatever your district decides tomorrow, those are the gaps the follow-up reporting has to close, starting with the certified results.
